Overview & How to Play

Stack ‘Em Slot: Overview & How to Play

It’s time to greet Canny the Can, a popular character in the Hacksaw Gaming verse that many of you might already have come across in Stick ‘Em. As it turns out, the game provider has come up with a sequel, Stack ‘Em, where now standing opposite Canny is Mona the Mouse. A glance into the slot reveals how far the game provider has come, from creating scratchcards to making these minimalist games to full-blown online slots like Wanted Dead or a Wild and Le Bandit

But be that as it may, Stack ‘Em, despite being a relatively simple Hacksaw game, has a standalone quality to it that has still kept the slot in contention even today. But with such tight competition from other game providers and even from Hacksaw’s budding portfolio, it will be interesting to see how well Stack ‘Em is stacked to continue being relevant.

Slot Description

Stack ‘Em opens on an elongated 5 reels panel with 6 rows. The slot doesn’t have any payline and instead works on cluster pays mechanics, which requires hitting a cluster of at least 5 identical symbols either vertically and/or horizontally. Bets start from a minimum of 0.20 coins, while the max betting limit is fixed at 100 coins per spin. Although what’s truly impressive about the specifications is the slot’s max win potential of 10,000x the stake, which is pretty great considering it’s a 2021 release

But what players need to be cautious of is the slot’s variance since the game is highly volatile, with a hit frequency somewhere around 10%. What this means is that you might have to face a long dry spell before a major breakthrough is realized. However, on the positive note, Stack ‘Em RTP of 96.20% is a decent score and stands above the industry average pinned for online slots.

Our first impression of the game made us realize the rapidity with which Hacksaw is progressing in the igaming industry. Considering the game provider is relatively new in the world of online slots, it is quite impressive to see the continuous improvements they are making with their releases. While Stack ‘Em might not be the ideal Hacksaw title, it’s one of those early releases that made a name for itself as a distinguished slot from the game provider’s portfolio. And now that a few years have passed since the game’s release, it’s important to see the slot from every aspect to find out if it’s still worth it and whether it is capable of generating big payouts for players.

Stack ‘Em: Slot Verdict

With Stack ‘Em, Hacksaw picks up from where it left Stick ‘Em. And it can’t be denied that the changes, especially design-wise, look much more improved. While the slot looks rock-solid compared to previous Hacksaw releases, it’s important to critically look at it from a contemporary lens. And once we do that, a few points come to mind.    Firstly, the volatility of this game is way too steep. The slot’s unpredictability is so high it won’t be surprising to get only a couple of wins from 50-60 spins. And yet, it also has the potential to trigger the bonus feature twice within 20 spins. This means that behind the innocence and cuteness of Canny and Mona is brutal math, which can make or break the day of any player.  We liked the base game multiplier segments but not the ones found during free games. The fact you have to connect the winning cluster with an 'X' symbol to apply the multiplier was way too much. As a result, some of our free spin sessions didn’t go beyond 4x or 5x the stake, while a rare one fetched above 1,300x the stake. Another irritating aspect of Stack ‘Em was the ‘?’ symbol. Several times, it provided 3 additional spins at moments when only 1 could be added to the current spin, which was exasperating.     To wrap things up, the catch with Stack ‘Em is that it’s highly unpredictable. So a lot depends on what day you are playing the game. The very features and modifiers that can land a massive win might take way too long to arrive. However, there have been several instances where the slot has turned players rich, which still makes the game tempting and worth playing. Therefore, if you love feature-heavy titles, this might not be the best option for you. Conversely, those who don’t get shunned by brutal math would still find Stack ‘Em a worthy contender.
