Hand of Anubis Slot: Overview & How to Play

Usually, when the name Hacksaw pops into our mind, it brings fresh memories of their popular releases like Chaos Crew, Stack ‘Em, or even Wanted Dead or a Wild. But with the release of Hand of Anubis, the game provider takes everyone by surprise! Unlike doodling the basic elements found in most Egyptian-themed slots, Hacksaw has switched the visuals and design to a more somber tone. To put it straight, Anubis was never more terrifying!

While the reels in Hand of Anubis look inspired by ELK slots, Hacksaw has left its touches throughout the game. We were quite impressed on our first sitting, for the game opened a way to reimagine the ancient Egyptian world, which otherwise has turned rather generic in the igaming industry. But our priority remains how well it fares as an online slot and if players can win big money from it.

Slot Description

Hand of Anubis has a compactly positioned grid of 5 reels and 6 rows. Since the slot uses the cluster pays system,, paylines do not partake in the game. So, to rake in payouts, you’ll need a cluster of matching symbols either in a horizontal or vertical direction. To get things started, wagering in the game starts from a minimum bet of 0.10 coins that ticks up to the max bet of 100 coins per round. The number game becomes even more exciting once we factor in the slot’s max win potential of 10,000x the stake

But a journey into this nether realm is not without its perils, as evident from the slot’s high volatility math model. Hacksaw has rated the game 5 out of 5 on variance, meaning a big win might take a while to show up. However, a good thing about high-variance games is they offer a better chance to bring something fruitful.

The Hand of Anubis RTP is 96.24%, which is pretty much in Hacksaw’s target range for slots. Even more interesting about this slot is its hit frequency of over 35%. Therefore, even though high volatility permeates throughout the game session, wins will likely show up after every 3 spins. Just note that most payout values are going to be below average.

Hacksaw might have gone minimalist regarding game design in Hand of Anubis. But as we delve deeper into the game, we find a lot goes behind this plain yet bleak underworld setting. With loads of features, multipliers, and payout options, we found this game to offer numerous way-outs through which players can land impressive wins. But let’s dissect this slot further to understand it from every aspect.

Hand of Anubis: Slot Verdict

Hacksaw found the way to enter an otherwise cluttered Egyptian-themed slot market. It has done so by presenting a game that not many would conceive of. The slot's dark mythology is surely an eye-catcher, but so are the slot specs and payouts. Hacksaw has evened out the slot’s base game and bonus rounds by including soul orbs in the main game. And with the help of cascading reels, players might land multiple wins from a single spin, which is always great.    As for the features, even though they carry great potential, more often than not, they couldn’t yield anything significant. However, one of our Underworld bonus feature segments fetched us above 410x the stake, which is okayish. The worst part was triggering reel multipliers but not being able to use it because green Orbs didn’t show up to activate that reel. But the show's star was the Judgment bonus, where we managed to rake in a whopping 7,100x the stake. This made us repeatedly return to the special feature, but we couldn’t come near that feat.    We even tried the slot’s buy bonus option; this time, the results inclined more favorably toward the Underworld bonus. As far as the purchase option is concerned, try avoiding it. But if you want to anyway, do so with a very small wagering amount. Caution plays an even bigger role when heading for the buy bonus.   Overall, Hand of Anubis is a slot worth going through, even if it is for a short while. Although  we've seen better math work from Hacksaw, the list of features and extensive multipliers in this one can land something mind-boggling.
